Lara Love Hardin, former Co-CEO of Idea Architects, launches True Literary Agency

After 12 years with Idea Architects, Lara Love Hardin has left to launch her own agency: True Literary. TL’s mission is to help create books and content that entertains, transforms, provokes, and inspires (not necessarily in that order).

During her time at Idea Architects, Lara was Senior Agent, Senior Collaborative Writer, Editorial Director, CFO, COO, and Co-CEO. In her new venture as founder of True Literary Agency, Lara looks forward to continuing her work with talented nonfiction authors and memoirists, and also expanding her representation into literary fiction.

Lara Love Hardin says, “It is bittersweet to be ending my time at IA and I leave with nothing but gratitude for the authors I have met and worked with over the last dozen years, and for my incredible colleagues and team members who I respect and adore. As I move into the next phase of my career, I’m thrilled to realize a long-held dream of launching my own agency, and look forward to continuing to champion my authors and create amazing books for the world. I love finding and amplifying new voices as much as I love developing the careers of experienced authors, and am excited to put all that I have learned at Idea Architects into practice at my own agency.”

Lara launches True Literary with the full support of its founder, Doug Abrams, and CEO, Rachel Neumann. Rachel says, “Lara has been integral to Idea Architects and its growth. Her legacy of commitment to the people as well as their stories, and of taking the work (but not ourselves) seriously, is a great inspiration and will imbue IA’s work going forward. Lara brings extraordinary care, humor, and skill to all that she does, and we will be cheering her on.”

Love Hardin’s list in development at Idea Architects will be moving with her to True Literary and she will also continue to consult and collaborate with the senior team at Idea Architects.

The Marsh Agency will be handling True Literary’s translation rights, and WME’s Sylvie Rabineau and Elizabeth Wachtel will be handling film/tv rights.
