This North Carolina Firm Has a Mission to Reunite Pet Owners with their Beloved Canine Friends.

North Carolina law firm Riddle & Brantley is on a mission to help reunite dog owners with their furry friends. North Carolinians are encouraged to submit their missing dog’s information on the firm’s website. Then, at no cost to the owner, the firm runs a series of Facebook ads to raise awareness for the missing pet. The ads target the animal’s last-seen location and include the dog’s photo, contact information, and any other relevant information.

“Our firm has always been committed to animal welfare, and dogs, in particular, have a special place in our hearts,” says Gene Riddle, attorney, and managing partner at Riddle & Brantley. “We’re proud to help North Carolinians find and reunite with their lost dogs however we can. This is the least we can do.”

When they aren’t reuniting lost pets with their owners, co-founders Gene Riddle and J. Christopher Brantley, along with a robust team of lawyers, investigators, and support staff, are busy representing injury victims throughout the state. Riddle & Brantley’s attorneys have over 225 years of combined experience and have been recognized by numerous state and local legal organizations.

The firm’s mission to reunite lost dogs with their human companions comes from a passion and deep love for four-legged friends. A 12-year-old West Highland terrier named Coconut Riddle serves as the firm mascot. He even starred in a firm commercial, gaining fame and notoriety throughout the state.

The team at Riddle & Brantley are not only committed to helping find lost dogs — they also strongly believe in pet adoption. The firm supports local humane societies, including the Wayne County Humane Society and the SPCA of Wake County. Coconut and his best pals Otis, Franklin, and Roscoe serve as proud animal ambassadors reminding people of the mutual benefits of adopting from a shelter.

When a sweet German Shepherd mix named “Honey” went missing in Jacksonville, NC, her owners were devastated. Sadly, the owner had to move out of state shortly after she went missing. Riddle & Brantley started running an Internet ad campaign right away to raise awareness for Honey.

Within a few weeks, Honey was spotted by a woman in a Jacksonville neighborhood while walking her small dog. For months, Honey was scared to come close. But when she finally did, she was taken to the vet to be scanned. Eventually, she was matched with her owner and reunited this last November — just in time for the holidays.

Through their involvement with local animal shelters and professional dog finders, the team at Riddle & Brantley would like to help raise awareness for everyone about helping their communities find missing pets.

“If you find a stray or missing dog, it’s important to avoid calling or shouting out to the animal, even with the pet’s name. Dogs will often instinctively run away if yelled at,” explained the team. “Instead, simply call the owner as soon as possible if you encounter a dog from a “missing pet” advertisement.”
