Today LivingWriter, LLC., a leading global writing platform, unveiled a new integrated desktop version of their novel writing software LivingWriter, the biggest user-facing change in the company’s history. With updates to the LivingWriter Desktop experience, livingwriter.com, and the mobile app, users get a single workspace designed to bring their stories, plotting tools, and creativity together. The update includes access to the desktop app for all existing subscribers to provide a convenient new access point to the workspace.

Bringing it all together

The new desktop version brings the cloud-based content of the LivingWriter system into an easily accessible module on your desktop or dock. This comes with all the features from the web app including:

• The patented story element feature that suggests a stories’ characters, places, and things to users as they write. With easy access to all their notes and research.

• The board tool for plotting your novel and easily organizing them. 

• Designing cover art with Canva right inside the LivingWriter application itself.

• One-click Writing Templatesused by bestselling authors worldwide. 

Smooth and accessible

The new LivingWriter Desktop version brings together the tools that most writers use the most so they can spend less time switching between apps to get work done. Last year, the company announced its partnership with Canva, and publishing houses, as well as a series of integrations that let users start and finish stories – from the first word to publishing – in the LivingWriter platform. Beginning today, users can also expect:

• Further organization of their stories with the introduction of folders, groups, and sections. 

• The Research Board will allow users to upload all their research files, images, and more in one large manageable place. 

• Changes in the hierarchy will allow users to nest scenes to an infinite number of levels. 

• A feature upvote system where subscribed users can vote and contribute to the features they want the 

All LivingWriter subscribers can grab the desktop version of the book writing software for MacOS and Windows from the resources page. All features are generally available to all users, new features to the web version will be introduced to the desktop version with timely updates.
